About Us



The Nursery is a 6-acre farm located two minutes from the Kona International Airport on the Big Island of Hawai‘i that specializes in the production of native plants, vanilla, and, historically, eucalyptus. To date the Nursery has produced over 11 million eucalyptus seedlings and hundreds of pounds of vanilla, and has reforested hundreds of acres of native Hawaiian flora.

    a new journey

    The nursery is eager to join in and play its part in the unique story The Big Island has to tell about its position in the world. It’s a tale about food production, food independence, and how things grow through its emerging agritourism industry.

    the start of our vanilla

    We began growing vanilla in 2009. Over the last 5 years, we have become the leading producer of Big Island-grown vanilla. This unique and special spice only grows in the warm tropics around the world, and the Kona grown vanilla at the nursery is proving to have a special “island grown” flavor. 

  3. 1999

    the beginning

     Since 1999, the nursery in Kona has been producing hundreds of thousands of healthy trees to restore and renew the Big Island of Hawaii.  Koa for the slopes of Mauna Loa and Hualalai, Sandalwood for the arid zones of Kawaihae, and many other species of plants and trees. The nursery produces happy, healthy plants that add to this beautiful island’s unique natural landscape.
